Updated COVID-19 GuidelinesLearn More

By: Brian Sullivan

FaAade projects, on buildings 15 stores or higher, may now use a licensed rigger, designated rigging foreman, qualified person for site safety or site safety manager oversee site safety, as per a recent change to the NYC Building Code AA3310, 3314.4 and 3316.9, and 1 RCNY 3310-01. Upon completion of 40 hours of site safety training and 32 hours of OSHA training, these professionals can now perform the services that were previously handled by site safety managers only.

This change should help eliminate the delays experienced in 2014 due to the lack of available qualified site safety managers. For more information on the change, please see the February update provided by the DOB.
